The Fire Prevention Assistant (NQF Level 4) course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to support fire prevention, preparedness, and response activities within workplaces and operational environments. The course focuses on identifying fire hazards, implementing preventative measures, supporting fire safety systems, and assisting in emergency response procedures in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
Learners will develop an understanding of fire behaviour, causes of fire, risk assessment, and the application of fire prevention controls. The programme also covers the correct use of fire‑fighting equipment, workplace fire procedures, evacuation support, and basic incident reporting. Emphasis is placed on compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and contributing to a safe working environment.

Prerequisites
- Have communication and mathematical literacy at NQF Level 3 or equivalent
